Tahamina Akter serves as an Assistant Trainer at SSD Academy under the ILO-ISEC Project. Holding a Level-2 National Skills Certificate in Tailoring and Dress Making alongside proven instructional experience with national development initiatives, she specializes in garment pattern drafting, cutting, and apparel construction. Tahamina is dedicated to delivering hands-on technical skills and empowering community youth and women with viable livelihood pathways.

Tahamina Akter is a motivated TVET trainer and technical craft specialist who assists in facilitating competency-based apparel and sewing instruction at SSD Academy. Certified under the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) framework, she combines solid technical precision with practical workshop guidance to support inclusive vocational training.

Prior to her role at SSD Academy, Tahamina gained substantial training experience delivering vocational programs with leading organizations, including BRAC, RISDA Bangladesh, and the UNDP-ISEC Project. At SSD Academy, she delivers structured, step-by-step garment construction sessions, mentoring learners from basic fabric handling to complete garment assembly and micro-enterprise readiness.

Key Responsibilities & Instructional Areas

• Pattern Drafting & Cutting: Training students in taking precise body measurements, pattern layout, and fabric cutting for various garments (Kameez, Salwar, Blouse, Petticoat, Baby Frock).
• Machine Operation & Stitching: Demonstrating sewing machine operation, hand stitching techniques, seam finishing, and garment assembly.
• Workshop OSH & Housekeeping: Enforcing occupational safety and health (OSH) standards, proper tool handling, and clean workshop maintenance.
• Trainee Mentorship: Supporting trainees through practical troubleshooting, encouraging quality workmanship, and guiding self-employment skills.
