Mst. Shahara Khatun

Mst. Shahara Khatun serves as the Lead Trainer for Tailoring & Dress Making (TDM) at SSD Academy under the ILO-ISEC Project. A certified TVET specialist holding Level-4 Competency-Based Training & Assessment (CBT&AM) credentials alongside extensive RMG production and fashion design expertise, she directs practical apparel instruction and workshop operations. Shahara is committed to delivering industry-standard technical education that equips trainees with employable garment manufacturing skills, market readiness, and pathways to sustainable livelihoods. 

Mst. Shahara Khatun is an experienced vocational training specialist, TVET assessor, and garment manufacturing professional leading the Tailoring & Dress Making trade under the ILO-ISEC Project at SSD Academy. Holding Level-4 certifications in Competency-Based Training & Assessment Methodology (CBT&AM) and RMG Mid-Level Management, she integrates industrial production standards with structured competency-based curricula.

Over her career, Shahara has accumulated deep industry and instructional experience—spanning over a decade as a Production Officer in RMG manufacturing, as well as serving as a Lead Trainer and Vocational Supervisor across development initiatives with organizations including BGS, NGO Forum for Public Health, NHRDF, and the ASSET Project. At SSD Academy, she oversees curriculum execution, hands-on workshop machinery training, and quality assurance to prepare trainees for both industrial employment and entrepreneurial ventures.

• Lead Trade Instruction: Designing and delivering competency-based training in garment construction, pattern drafting, fashion design, and product development.
• Industrial Sewing Machine Operations: Providing hands-on master training across diverse machinery (Single/Double Needle Lockstitch, Overlock, Flatlock, Feed of the Arm, Button Hole/Attach).
• Quality Assurance & Assessment: Implementing Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) methodologies to evaluate trainee competencies against national standards.
• Workshop Safety & Machine Maintenance: Enforcing occupational safety and health (OSH) protocols, routine machine maintenance, and proper workshop management.
