In a major step toward modernizing vocational education for faith-based institutions, Step-Up Skill Development Academy (SSD Academy), with technical support from the International Labour Organization (ILO), officially signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three prominent Qawmi Madrasahs across Cox’s Bazar.
This strategic partnership bridges traditional education with market-relevant technical skills, establishing clear career pathways into wage employment, enterprise development, and the global digital economy.

Strategic Objectives & Quality Standards: The initiative delivers Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF)-aligned training tailored for Qawmi madrasah pre-vocational graduates. A core priority of the project is ensuring strong gender inclusivity, targeting a minimum of 60% female enrollment in mixed training facilities and 100% female participation in dedicated women-only centers.
Under the agreement, host madrasah administrations have committed to providing secure, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)-compliant workshop environments, dedicated IT infrastructure, and robust community mobilization to maintain regular trainee attendance.
By integrating BNQF-certified technical training and digital competencies into the madrasah ecosystem, SSD Academy and the ILO continue to champion inclusive youth empowerment and sustainable economic resilience throughout Cox's Bazar.
